Worst Christmas Gift Ever…
In this age of over-commercialization of the Christmas Holiday, we can’t help but get irritated and wonder why on earth our friend / officemate/ significant other gave us that stupid gift . I mean, yeah, it’s the thought that counts, and the spirit of the season is in the giving… but really now, who would need a Frog Coin Purse made out of real frog leather (given to Delcee)?
Among the more unusually impractical gifts our colleagues received as Christmas presents were:
Cat: Goya chocolates from my ex-boyfriend….that’s why he’s my ex now. (hehe, syempre ako ang unang nagreply sa survey question na ito)
Jaq: 150 pesos worth of ChocNut (aww..how sweet)
Hansel: A piece of Tootsie Roll candy (kuripot!)
Consuelo: 20 Pesos (oh-kay…)
Arol: Wooden barrel man in “different sizes” (small, medium, large) ? yong nabibili sa Baguio..hehehe (tinanong pa ni arol sa akin kung anong tawag rito, hehe)
Vans: An outdated Our Daily Bread book, condoms, and a gay porn magazine given during the weekly something-something kris kringle (wow, perfect complements – in economist speak)
Ferdie: Payong…na pang bumbay (ano naman ung payong na pang bumbay??)
Brian: Shirt, pero 3 sizes larger, as if (e di gawing pantulog)
Mai: Shirt, pero 2 sizes smaller, as if… (baka sa sister nya un)
Yoe: Bra, pero Cup C..as if…(ok, pamela anderson)
Jing: White Cotton Sloggy Panty…pero a size smaller, as if…(which you can use as shower cap, hehehe)
Lala: A very fancy dress from Rustan’s, too fancy even for special occasions (too fancy for a beauty pageant?)
Mau: Mercury Drugstore calendar given to me by someone not even from by that drugstore (tinipid si mauuuuuu!)
Cherry: Fruitcake na lang siguro ? only because I don’t eat it. (well, there’s a fruitcake for everybody)
Carlo: Fruitcake that had some unrecognizable fruits (there’s a fruitcake from everyone)
Bianco: A fruitcake that looked like it came from the 10 previous owners and a bookmark… I don’t even read (take a bite, it’s alright…)
Blaq: A jarful of achara (ay, alam ko kung kanino galing to!)
Bon: A BIIIIGGGGGGG scented candle (for long periods of brownout)
Carol: Ridiculously tiny scented candles (for short periods of brownout)
Irma: A lamp that doesn’t light up and a figurine (figurines should be on the top of the ‘what-not-to-give-at-christmas’ list together with photo albums, mugs and towels)
Arlene Y.: A toy for a boy!!! A toy car to be exact, as if…(napagkamalan siguro…may tendency?)
Ica: A pink Hello Kitty bag for my son (kung blue hello kitty, ok lang kaya??)
Surprisingly (or not), many respondents (Christian, Melvin, Ghie, to name a few) said there are no bad gifts ever and that they are thankful and will treasure all the presents they received…but really now, how can you treasure something like a Poo-poo figurine!?! (yes, a porcelain replica of s**t , available in Blue Magic, given to Mickey and Me-Ann)
