Bon Odori at the Manila Japanese School

Posted by Cat Ramos

This post is….STALE! 😀 I have perfectly good excuses (yes, plural) but I won’t enumerate them all 😛 Anyway, the 11th Bon Odori Festival was held at the Manila Japanese School on March 6. It is a big event participated in by the local Japanese community — it is a fairly popular one, with big companies joining in the festivities.

Schatz and I attended the anticipated mass at Greenbelt Chapel that night and we almost didn’t go to MJS because I was so hungry and I had my mind set on having a big bowl of Yoshinoya gyuudon for dinner. But Schatz was adamant that we go, and apparently, Dan was alone because no other Japinoy members made it to the festival. But I’m glad we decided to go — it was a fun event. Para kang nasa Japan, haha. Feeling tuloy namin kami ang mga foreigner dun 😀 The girls looked nice in their yukata, and everywhere you look, there are groups of people eating, drinking beer, chatting and having lots of fun.

Here are some pics (I’m still trying to figure out how to convert the fireworks videos, so I can post them on YouTube). Nagnakaw na rin ako ng mga picture galing sa Fezbook ni Dan. 😀

Fireworks, duh
