Leyende Love part 2

Posted by Cat Ramos

This is a much delayed continuation of the Leyende Love part 1 post which I did last year:

Place in the Sun

Ease Off – This is an original product that’s probably phased off since I don’t see it in their product lineup anymore. This is a facial scrub with crushed walnut shells for exfoliating, instead of the usual apricot. I loved it because it was much gentler than St. Ives. I sure miss this one.

Place in the Sun – PhP 400/50g. Natural vitamin e-based FACE sunblock SPF30. Tinosorb, an effective natural-based sunblock agent, allantoin and titanium dioxide are combined to provide broad spectrum UVA/UVB sun protection. Best of all, the consistency is smooth and light (comparable to the Dry-Touch Helioplex formula of Nivea sunblock) and non-greasy!
Review: This sunblock feels like heaven on your skin — not sticky and dries quickly. It does not leave a whitish cast on the face that makes you look like a ghost. It is not very heavy nor greasy. What’s not to love, right? When I first used this, I fell in love with its mild scent — one of the main reasons why I bought 2 more and gave one to my sis. But on my 2nd bottle, the smell was different. It wasn’t as good as the first one. The texture also looked and felt different. There were white flecks in the cream and when I apply it to my skin, I have to ‘dust off’ the flecks after. It was annoying that the product’s quality was not consistent.
Will I buy it again? No. I’ve used up two. But I found a better sunblock in Neutrogena’s UV Waterlight. ^_^ SPF 50++, anyone?

Rapunsilk Pearl Shampoo

Rapunsilk Pearl Shampoo – Php 400/285ml. For all hair types, but especially dry, thick hair. Sulfate free. Paraben-free. Effective cleansers made from organic coconut, aloe vera gel and albumen (egg whites). With added pearl essence for extra nourishment.
Review: The first thing that I loved about this shampoo was the citrusy scent. It was so yummy and shampooing felt like such a joy. My hair smells really good hours after shower. I am not sure my hair became shiny, though. I only used up one bottle so I did not see any other major effects to my hair. You gotta love the name!
Will I buy this again? No. Too expensive. 😛 Other shampoos are OK with me — back to Rejoice!

The Taming of the Do – Php 400/285ml. Light conditioning for all hair types. Sulfate free. Paraben-free. Enriched olive butter is the base for this light yet nourishing conditioner with macadamia nut oil, reputed as a wonderful hair moisturizer. A dash of scalp-stimulating peppermint oil leaves a fresh, cool feeling.
Review: The main reason why I bought this? The name!! FTW! Haha. My hair felt really soft during the first few uses. But as I go through the bottle, I noticed that it isn’t as effective as before. My hair feels heavy and I noticed more tangles after my shower.
Will I buy this again? No. Aside from the price, I felt my hair was a lot worse with this conditioner. I’m going back to my conditioning staples: Rejoice and Pantene.
