My UST-EHS high school batch – rápido forward to now

Posted by Cat Ramos

I am not really crazy about Facebook as other people are; I cannot seem to like how people’s ‘harvesting’ and ‘fishing’ and Mafia activities flood my Facebook page. But I must admit, it has some benefits too. One big benefit is that I get to reconnect with long lost friends and acquaintances — something that I wasn’t able to do with Friendster. Apparently, Facebook is cool enough to get ALMOST everyone to sign up for an account (can’t say the same with Friendster — which many people think is JOLOGS).

Just last week, I managed to effortlessly find some of my high school classmates from UST Education High School. It was a pretty small class, and I think I can find anyone with an account if only I would exert a bit more effort. Haha.

Suprise of all surprises — all of these people I added last week are now MARRIED, some with kids. Toddlers too, not infants. Wow. How time really flies. One of them, well, I didn’t expect him to get married because at that time, he was a bit….effeminate? Now he tells me he is married and a baby is on the way. So happy for him! I remember he was a very nice, very funny person back then. He seemed to have mellowed quite a bit now (basing from our Facebook conversations).

Suddenly, the thought that I was being left behind came into my mind. I mean, I will be turning the big 3-0 this year (and I can hear a certain someone repeating the words “biological clock” over and over) and Schatz and I are still not married. We’re not even engaged. We’ve had serious talks about it, but we have something else on the number 1 spot on our ‘Priorities List’. I’m not going to divulge it here, lest someone jinxes it. 😛

So having said that, I am not worried about that AT ALL. 🙂 The important thing is that our relationship is better than ever (much, much better than last year, thank you very much) and we’re making a lot of shared plans for the future. After we fulfill ‘Priority #1″, the ring and the ceremony will come soon after. 😀

As for my high school friends (and enemies), I’m going to keep on hunting them down — who knows, maybe we could all get together for a big reunion. I can imagine that’s going to be such a BLAST. 😀
