this is my mega-lss, as in ‘last song syndrome’. i heard ‘nada sousou’ yesterday on my favorite sunday noontime show ‘nodo jiman’. the guy who sang it was a nikkei-jin and he didn’t make it to the winners’ circle. he wasn’t very good but the song drove me to tears; i don’t know why. i first heard it during the 2003 kouhaku utagassen (red and white song battle) on nhk and i’ve loved it eversince. this is an okinawan song that’s so touching it gives me goose pimples. ^_^ anyway, i’m posting the lyrics and i hope somebody can give me an mp3 copy of that ^_^ (btw, i’ve added this to my ‘my50’ list of things to do before age 50: sing nada sousou with shamisen accompaniment. pretty ambitious, huh?)
