I am currently hooked on Criminal Minds. I am watching season 5 – Down to the last 2 episodes! Just in time for the 6th season, the first episode aired last week, but I still haven’t read any reviews because I don’t want to spoil myself.
Several Prison Break actors guest starred in CM. Interestingly, none of them turned out to be a bad guy in Criminal Minds.

Took me a while to like Criminal Minds, but now I am really addicted (addicted enough to follow the cast via Twitter — which is saying something, because I don’t really use Twitter). My favourite characters are Penelope Garcia (who hates her, anyway??), Gideon (quitter, haha) and Rossi. I wish Rossi would have a bigger role, though. Gideon was like the ‘sage’ of the group — the one they look up to, the wise one. Rossi isn’t exactly like that, and after 4 seasons, I am still trying to figure out what he is. After he solved that case from many years ago, his presence just lost relevance. He isn’t the leader (though he did help establish the BAU); Hotch is. He isn’t the sage. He isn’t the genius (Reid), the media savvy agent (JJ), the tough-but-compassionate girl (Prentiss), the techie (Garcia), or the one who kicks down doors and chases a criminal fleeing the scene (Morgan). I don’t want to believe that he’s just the guy who loves to give away money to victims. 😀
Now it’s been confirmed that JJ will only be back for 2 eps in the 6th season and Prentiss will only appear in a limited number of eps. So unfair! Why do the producers mess with a good thing? It’s so stupid. Then I heard Liz Vassey (DNA tech) is no longer in CSI – but that’s not related at all. Haha.
There will be a CM spinoff, starring Forest Whittaker (YAY!). They had a special episode for this in s5 and I thought Forest was quite likeable as Cooper. I didn’t like the others, though. I couldn’t believe Beau Garrett is 2 years younger than me – I thought she was at least 35 years old. 😛
I haven’t seen a lot of profiler series so I can’t really compare it with anything. Also, there aren’t a lot of Japanese ‘deka’ series revolving around profiling. The closest I’ve seen was BOSS (starring my girl-crush Amami Yuuki), and while Osawa Eriko had trained in profiling in the US, she didn’t do much profiling in the series. The only thing I remember was when she did a profile of that a-hole director. 😀
I have a lot of American and Japanese series ‘on rotation’ right now (mostly medical or police/detective/crime), catching up on TV because I had been deprived for the past 6 months 😀 So far, I am enjoying being buried in episodes!
