Knee-tuck crunches with an exercise ball

Posted by Cat Ramos

Due to my hectic schedule at work, I am only able to attend the 2nd session of my barre3 classes last week. Pfft. And this is after I promised myself I’d go to the exercise studio at least twice a week.

Anyway, I got myself an exercise ball, after my colleague raved about it — his wife recently got one, and he told me he uses it regularly. Kewl.

The one that I got from Toby’s (SM Megamall) is P750 with a 10% discount. I loved that I can deflate the ball after use, because I don’t want to crowd my tiny apartment.

I found one easy routine with the exercise ball on Fitsugar.com. It is called knee-tuck crunches. What is so great about this is it is a full body workout: arms, abs and legs. Unlike the traditional ab crunch, this does not put any strain on my back. Actually, I haven’t done crunches for the longest time, because I always hurt my back — which doesn’t help me tone my abs at all. I have completely given up on crunches 😉

This one, called plank to pike, is much more advanced. They make it look so effortless in the video, but damn, I couldn’t do it 😛
