What’s a new year without resolutions? It may be a posting cliché but I am serious (kind of) with my goals this year. Putting things in writing, putting my goals out there gives me more accountability and makes me work harder to achieve each one.
1. Do cardio 4x a week. – Sometimes, I swim (so far, my most favourite activity). Sometimes, I run. Sometimes, I hide. Sometimes, I’m scared of you. OK, I will shut up.
2. Eat more vegetables. – I can eat vegetables but not everything. Also, I am not a salad person and I cannot subsist on rabbit food on a daily basis. But I am also aware that I needed to consume lots more than what I am getting now. I still cannot stomach bringing a green salad to work, but I plan to incorporate more greens into my smoothies. More veggies without the fatty dressing or the bitter taste. Win-win.
3. Go back to bento. – I want to eat healthier stuff and have balanced meals regularly. I also want a bit more control on what goes in my lunches and a bento is definitely the way to go. Maybe, no longer as cute as the ones below but when the kawaii bug bites you, you have no choice but to create “cute”, yes?
4. Study everyday. – This year, I plan to focus mainly on French and Japanese. I am still on the fence on whether I will take the N1 exam again or just expose myself to more business Japanese. Before I study Spanish, I need to acquire a certain proficiency level in French, preferably B2, which the Assimil course promises.
5. Buy Filipino. – it may be a bit difficult because our shops are flooded with imported products. But as much as possible, I buy Filipino so I always check the label of the items I plan to get.
6. Write everyday. – It does not matter if I write in my blog or in my journal. It does not matter if I publish something or start yet another draft. The important thing is, I set aside some time to just write, write, write. I do a lot of writing at work, so it is important that I don’t stop at the office. It is key that I write from many different perspectives, about many topics just to keep honing my skill. As my boss always says, the only way you can be better at it is if you JUST WRITE. He is so write. I mean, right.
There, a pretty short list for this year. Any longer and I would have a hard time keeping track of all my goals. Fingers crossed, I can do it. All of it.
When it comes to setting and meeting goals, you are one of my inspirations. がんばりましょう!
Aww, meeting goals. Thank you, Tesha! お互いにがんばりましょう!
