Bento #43: UST Cutie Tiger bento

I made this bento as a tribute to my beloved university, the University of Santo Tomas 🙂 I’ve been meaning to make some UST-themed bentos but it was only yesterday that I had some extra time. It’s not very elaborate, though. Plus, the nori was being a bitch and kept curling up so I couldn’t make the tiger stripes nicely.

Anyway, I am happy at how it turned out. It still looked cute to me 😀

The tiger is made up of pan fried curry korokke (croquette), which I got from Hatchin at P20 a piece. The tiger stripes were cut free hand from nori, while the face was done using my Niko-niko punch.

The rice is less than 1 cup, since the korokke is a quite substantial on its own. For color, nutrients and decoration, I added the below:

  • kani sticks
  • quail egg cut into 2 flower shapes
  • sweet  peas
  • shelled edamame (soybeans)
  • chikuwa
I also brought a small container of tonkatsu sauce. To view this photo with notes, go to my Flickr page

It took me over an hour to finish eating this bento!! I was so full after, and almost fell asleep during our telecon. Pfft. I have some more UST-themed bentos coming in the next few weeks 🙂
