One of my most favourite games ever, Phoenix Wright aka Ace Attorney aka Gyakuten Saiban (if you’re purist and prefer the Japanese title ^_^) is due for theatrical release next month!
Apparently, the musical adaptation was a success (I was initially appalled at the idea, admittedly) but I am really looking forward to this movie.
Not too crazy about some of the cast like Saito Takumi (what have you done to Miles Edgeworth, dammit!) and Kiritani Mirei (Maya…yes, that Aragaki Yui wannabe). Even Narimiya Hiroki looked a little too old for the role. They should have taken a page from my book and got Tsumabuki Satoshi!
Those details aside, the movie seems brilliant. Why? Three words: Manfred von Karma 😀 Oh, and Mia Fey too. :p
Miike Takashi directs — this promises to be epic too. This and Ruroken movie = great year for Japanese movies!
