The lazy girl cleans the house

I thank you, walis tambo

Last weekend, I was a very good girl and spent the entire Saturday cleaning my apartment. Well, it’s not that I was very willing to do that. I was actually forced to clean up because Jason (my friend and ex-colleague whose wifey owns the condo unit) told me they are planning to put the unit up for sale and they needed pictures for the adverts. Now, I realized I haven’t really cleaned the house in….months?! I had no choice but to wake up a little early and make sure the house is nice and tidy for the pics. 😛

Cleaning the house by myself is actually one of the downsides of living alone. I thought of getting the services of a housekeeper (I got some flyers in my mailbox) for cleaning and stuff, but figured it’s going to cost me much for such a small apartment. I live in a 1-br, 20sqm flat, btw. A little cramped for me now. I’m really surprised at how much junk stuff I had accumulated in just 2 years of living there. >_<

Anyway, it wasn’t very hard and I was able to do everything I needed to do with the  house — except wax the floor. I figured I didn’t need to wax the floor for the pictures, hehe. It’s not going to show up much, anyway.

But I just had to clean the electric fan. It’s really grimy, dusty and I think it’s starting to grow barnacles already! Yay. Barnacles. Haha. But I was too lazy to dismantle it and wash the parts with water and soap and dry it again then asssemble it again. So what I did was…tadaaaa — use a soft broom (walis tambo in Tagalog) so dust the fan. Hahahahaha. Lazy ass! I got this idea from my boyfriend’s mom, actually.

But it worked, and it only took a fraction of the cleaning time. Yesh! Get any walis tambo, then just have a go at your electric fan until all the dust is gone. Oh yeah. I am so NOT a domestic goddess. Let’s call it “dry cleaning the electric fan”.  Now I think my bedroom is a LOT cooler now, because the fan is “grime-free”. 😀
