The Voice season 2: Team Adam and Team Ceelo ready for the semis with their 4 artists

Maybe I should stop listing down who my favorites are. I noticed that the harder I root for someone, the earlier they leave the show. Pfft.

The artists advancing to the semifinals for Team Adam and Team Ceelo were announced and here are the results:

TEAM ADAM

  1. Mathai – Looking like a goddess and singing like a superstar, Mathai has got it made.
  2. Pip – While everyone knows he is extremely talented, he is not meant to sing rock. But he did rock that bowtie — he always does.
  3. Tony Lucca – I just love it when a guy does a falsetto. I think I am becoming a Tony Lucca convert, but no, I am not going to say he’s a favorite because you know…;)
  4. Katrina Parker – I love the transformation, she looks almost like Adele now!

Bye-bye, The Voice – Karla Davis and Kim Yarbrough

The bottom 3 are Katrina, Karla and Kim. Oh, look at that, 3 Ks. I thought Karla did really great with I Can’t Make You Love Me. It is a favorite song of mine and Karla just sounded divine and mellow and this is her best performance in the show. Too bad it was her last. I was torn between Katrina and Karla but in the end, Katrina’s more powerful Don’t Speak won Adam in the end. It was a surprising song choice from someone who’s so demure and proper and it really worked. Gwen Stefani must be so flattered.

Great parting words from Karla to thank the people like the band and the staff working behind the scenes at The Voice. This girl’s got class.

TEAM CEELO

  1. Jamar Rogers – The best performance of the night. Great idea from the producer to put Jamar at the end of the show. Great energy and great stage — crazy people on stilts. Haha.
  2. Juliet Simms – As solid as always, Juliet totally rocked the night.
  3. James Massone – Fall leaves and a park bench. Great production touch, whoever came up with this idea. A perfect setting for James’ Don’t Know Why. I hope Blake throws in an extra pair of panties on stage — that’s for me. 😛
  4. Cheesa – Cheesa really brought her diva A-game. I thought her Live Show performance of  Don’t Leave Me This Way was great, and she’s got so much energy going during her number. But the other 3 above just overshadowed her. Still, it was good that she did the old belter reliable All By Myself for her final song and killed it. Pinay yan! Woooo! (In case you are wondering, her full name is Cheesa Laureta and both her parents are Filipino).

Bye-bye, The Voice – Tony Vincent and Erin Martin

Like Adam, I am really pissed. Pissed that Tony had to go. Everybody Wants To Rule The World didn’t do much for him as he wasn’t allowed to showcase what his voice could do, unlike the Battle Rounds. Still, I loved the stage, the stairs, the outfit, the nail polish, the eyeliner, the hair. Wait, what hair?? Great job, Mr. Cameraman, for spotting Justin Hopkins in the audience, applauding for his former rival, Tony.

Tony’s final song choice was much better, Sweet Dreams Are Made Of These. The Dark Lord brought his A-game too — didn’t you just love the facial expression? And that smile in the end just says Avada Kedavra!

Now, about Erin. For her final song choice, it was a good thing I knew the lyrics to Your Song. Otherwise, I wouldn’t understand a thing she was
saying. It’s weird and she still hasn’t grown onto me. She’s got a pretty smile, though. 🙂

Before I stop this for tonight, can I just say something about Christina Milian? Well, I wonder why they let Alison Hayslip go. She is so much
livelier a host than Christina. She knows how to bond with the artists and asks the proper questions at the proper time. Christina, on the other hand,
looks like she’s always struggling to find the right words. It’s not very entertaining.OK, I finally got that out of my system 🙂

I am looking forward to the semifinal rounds next week. It is going to be crazy entertaining as the competitions reach a whole new level. 🙂
