Two Minutes to Happiness

I saw this article on MSN, and I thought it was too good not to share. I have it bookmarked too — because in my world, emo isn’t cool. 😉 Try these anytime you  need an instant pick-me-up.

Two Minutes to Happines

  1. Flip Through Old Photos – What better happiness than to look at your high school photos and be reminded of the crazy days.
  2. Munch on Nuts – Nuts make me cough, but I would really like to try this.
  3. Inhale a Calming Scent – I love this. My favorites are lemon, orange and lavender.
  4. Open Your Shades – I wish I could. My apartment is an inner unit in the condo building so it is a little dark.
  5. Walk around the Block – I used to do this when I was still working in Ayala, and it worked wonders for me — physically and mentally 🙂
  6. Clear Away Clutter – I try to keep my stuff in order. Keyword is “try”. But sometimes, I can find things better when my things are in a mess. Clutter doesn’t stress me at all, unless it’s not mine!
  7. Think Fast – Very nice! I tried this and it really works, especially if you think of positive things. Thinking of all the beautiful things in your life and counting them fast do make you feel that you have a lot to feel good and thankful about.
  8. Cue Up YouTube – I have a playlist for pranks (especially those extremely funny Japanese pranks) and a separate one for ‘cute’ videos like the video of the sneezing baby panda, pandas playing on slides and swings, the sleepy baby Labrador, the baby Welsh Corgi and many others 😀
  9. Rethink Your Retail Therapy – I suppose if you are a compulsive shopper, shopping would no longer be ‘therapeutic’ for you. In my case, I still find happiness in shopping for clothes and shoes, just as I find delight in paying for plane tickets online 😀 For me, paying for both material things and experiences makes me a happy spender.
  10. Zone Out – I am always zoning out! I can fall asleep anytime, anywhere. If I don’t get to pay off  ‘sleep debt’ during the weekend, I would be cranky for the rest of the week.
  11. Chat Up a Friendly Neighbor – Not a lot of chances to do this, considering the kind of place I live in.
  12. Chop veggies – Of course, after chopping the veggies, I cook and eat them. It’s a waste to just throw them away 😛
  13. Do a Good Deed – Ah yes. Even something as simple as giving my seat the an old lady inside the MRT just makes me feel really good 🙂
